George Soros Smells SodaStream Money and Stinks Up BDS

George Soros, the leftists’ billionaire version of Sheldon Adelson, has bought $24.3 million worth of shares in the Israeli-Based SodaStream company, which has a factory in the same Judean Desert claimed by the Palestinian Authority and for which Sorors has donated millions of dollars.

Soros has made a fortune on smelling money, whether it be the British pound, when he cornered the market and almost forced Her Majesty’s empire to turn over the crown jewels, or commodities and stocks that others spurn.

SodaStream has taken a licking in the past year, falling from a peak of almost $78 a share to barely over $35 because of sharply lower earnings on its prize machine for homemade carbonated beverages.

Scarlet Johansson last year gave the company a quick boost when she signed a multi-million contract to act as SodaStream’s worldwide ambassador.

Then a funny thing happened on the way to the bank. The 21st century’s answer to Brigitte Bardot was stripped of her ambassadorship at Oxfam, which considers the presence of Jews in Judea and Samaria to be one of the greatest war crimes in the world.

The Boycott Israel groups, headed by BDS, accused Johansson of greed by sticking with SodaStream. She responded by saying that the company’s policy of equal opportunity hiring at the Judean Desert plant in Maaleh Adumim, east of Jerusalem, is more of a peaceful road to co-existence than the two-decade-plus failure to shove a Made in America plan down the throats of the Arabs and Jews. Cheeseburgers can’t win over falafel and pita.

Now comes George Soros with an apparently hypocritical investment to make money in a Zionist enterprise in the “occupied territories” after he has tried to pave the way for chaos by investing much more money in groups such as B’Tselem and the New Israel Fund, which back a No Jews Allowed Palestinian Authority state. All the better, says Soros, if Hamas is a part of the J Street solution to solve the problem of Diaspora Jews, whose raison d’etre as Jews is to force their Limousine Liberal views on Israel so they can bury their conscience under their I Love Israel pillowcases.

Soros’ investment in SodaStream is the epitome of the nerurosis of American Jews.

How can he give financial support to J Street, which he did even while lying that he didn’t until the truth hit the fan, and buy stock in a company that is one of the shining examples of a Zionist enterprise in Judea and Samaria?

Soros represents the duality of the American Jew. His heart is in America, but his nose for money is anywhere where the smell takes him.

He has a knack for investing in the right companies when no one else wants to touch them and just when they are near their bottom.

Soros bought millions of shares of Teva Pharmaceuticals two and three years ago after the stock plummeted from above $65 to below $50. He bought it at $45 and then at $40. In the past three months it has soared more than 25 percent to $52 before backing off this week to $49-$50.

Soros also has invested millions of dollars in  the Palestinian Authority through a private equity company, the Siraj Fund Management Company, which was created “for the sole purpose of managing investment funds in Palestine,” according to the pro-Israel NGO Monitor.

His money is talking a lot and is saying that the real way to peace in through sound investments, not through a make-believe Arab state of make-believe Palestinians whose national identity never existed and never will exist.

If Soros is putting his money into a company, one which is claimed to be an “obstacle to peace” by the same groups he finances with his profits, maybe he knows something they don’t know – that he satisfied his screwed-up conscience by throwing away millions for the leftists and knows that an ideology, especially one that digs a hole in the ground is not part of the same path to peace that Scarlett Johansson has chosen.

And no, George she’s too young – even for you.

Your Op-Ed piece includes the following statement…”Soros represents the duality of the American Jew. His heart is in America, but his nose for money is anywhere where the smell takes him.”

Firstly, George Soros is as Jewish as an Amazon Tribal Heathen with a bone through it’s nose, but that doesn’t stop you from impugning all American Jews and tainting them with the despicable benchmark practices of George Soros because your statement in essence declares that American Jews are amoral money grubbers concerned with and absorbed by nothing but money.

I’m an American Jew, and if you made such a statement in my presence Mr. Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu, you’d find out in very short order how good your dental and medical insurance is.

In the future, I’ll be sure to pass on anything by The Jewish INDEPENDENT, and I’ll be glad to spread the word far and wide so that others will do likewise.

I could accept form someone else the criticism of an implied blanket on all American Jews, and that certainly was not my intention, but the threat of a physical assault on me demonstrates that the writer certainly does have a problem and that perhaps the blanket criticism covers him, also.

The writer exposes another personal problem by deciding that Soros is not Jewish because he has different views. Moving from blankets to tents, The Jewish Independent abides by Jewish law that defines Jew as one who was born to a Jewish mother. That includes Soros, like it or night, is under the Jewish tent. I don’t editorially ex-communicate secular Jews, anti-Zionists, Reform or Neturei Karta Jews.

My accusation that American Jews run to the smell of money is indeed exaggerated, but to put it in more polite terms, how many American Jews would stay there if they were certain they would be economically better off in Israel. How many Jews do not move to Israel simply because they are comfortable materially and financially in the United States?

I wouldn’t trust Soros for a second, he must have something fishy in mind…and it won’t be in Israel’s interests..

American Jews are neurotic, can smell money, and have dual loyalty.

Is there an anti-Semitic canard that you didn’t use?

Soros may want to use his investment to force SodaStream to sell its plant in Mishor Adumim.

Well, I imagine they’re smelling money with their “hooked noses.”

Come on, people, Tzvi was making a self-depreciating joke, the very fact he did that was another Jewish stereotype! It’s what we do, his joke may have been sharper because he might be an Israeli and they don’t get humor so well (oops, did I just stereotype?) but it was cute, this web site gives you news and views with a strong dose of humor. It’s a fresh approach of being informative, provocative, attempted unbiased, and it’s fun! Keep it up!

As someone who has been in Israel since I was 18, I can definitely say that I part ways on values with most of the American Jewish community.
